The Audience
May 26
You can replace a thousand workers with a single invention.
Write a line of code that makes call centers obsolete.
You could make a hamburger flipper that so efficiently flips hamburgers that they plunge in cost to 1960s prices, cutting all the line cooks along the way. Or dream up a new method of subtraction that leaves the accountants of the world destitute.
You could tell a computer to write a thousand love songs, each more poetic than the last. Or have it spew out sonnets that would make Shakespeare blush.
You could even choose to read countless of hundreds of emails instead of this one.
But you’re reading this. You’re still here.
Because despite all the innovations of the last several millennia, despite all the nightmares of science fiction now coming true, no one has ever considered replacing the audience.
The people we do it for.
After all, why would we?
Why would we want to replace you?
Morning Reading is a daily email to help center yourself, reflect, and prepare for the day. It’s sent with love from your friend, Zach in Austin, Texas. He even drew the logo himself.
