Hello friend—you’re receiving this email as a part of morning reading, a daily reflection on the parts of life worth living for that you signed up for sometime last year. I've got a laundry list of additions, designs updates, and website pieces I want to make, but ultimately, I just wanted to bring this back. Thank you for reading, and a very happy New Year.

Participation is the TrophyJanuary 19th

Good morning, friend. You know what’s better than a participation trophy?A winning trophy. And you know what’s better than that? Multiple winning trophies. Repeat trophies. The ultimate W. Hardware. Row after row of stack after stack of winning trophies. A whole case of trophies with your name, no, your face on them, displayed publicly next to your key to the city. But you know what’s better than that?Still being able to play the game. It’s where the road ends for sports analogies, because life offers us all sorts of domains where we don’t ever have to hang up the cleats. This isn’t a love letter to the participation trophy, but it is a love letter to participation.Because at the end of the day, what else does life provide us, if not the daily invitation to be involved? And what could be better than waking up knowing we’ve got another shot at the whole damn thing? Journal Prompt: What's something you want to do for the rest of your life?
