The Appeal to Strength

November 8

The next time you find yourself checking your blind spot, and, signaling, rapidly pulling over to the side of the road to let an ambulance go by, feel the moment of frustration.

The person in the ambulance probably feels a lot more than frustration. Pain, fear, and if those aren’t too loud, embarrassment.

But the strength of their emotions doesn’t change the existence of yours. Just like the existence of your emotions doesn’t give you the right to not pull over for an ambulance.

All things considered, and, when necessary, we appeal to the thing that deserves it more.

Morning Reading is a daily email to help center yourself, reflect, and prepare for the day. It’s sent with love from your friend, Zach in Austin, Texas. He even drew the logo himself.
