Complicit in Reality
September 25
In one sense, we all wake up one day, suddenly aware of our own consciousness, looking around wondering “who the hell is responsible for all of this?”
It’s easy to put up the wall, avow off the past, and look to the actual things that we create and control. Maybe that’s the peak of wisdom, or even the first step towards making the world a better place.
But no matter how hard we rage, or which machine we rage against, we still find ourselves looking around, seeing everything that is—
All of reality, of which we are a part, and in which we are complicit.
Can we bear the weight of that responsibility? Of being a part of every interrelated thing?
Morning Reading is a daily email to help center yourself, reflect, and prepare for the day. It’s sent with love from your friend, Zach in Austin, Texas. He even drew the logo himself.
