Under the Covers of Night
September 26
You can get a lot of sneaking done under the cover of darkness.
Hide a thing or two—a body, a feeling, a treasure chest, painstakingly measured, engineered, and plotted to arrive precisely at the X of a map.
You can burn the midnight oil all the way to the next midnight, searching for secrets, a new enterprise, business, idea, book, eating away into otherwise unconscious hours while everyone else sleeps through it.
Or you could draw the covers of night up to your chin, roll back and forth to tuck the edges underneath, and embrace the quiet darkness brings—sneaking your way into the next morning, awake, refreshed, alive.
Morning Reading is a daily email to help center yourself, reflect, and prepare for the day. It’s sent with love from your friend, Zach in Austin, Texas. He even drew the logo himself.
