On Dying On Hills

October 20

If you're going to die on a hill, choose a good one. Scenery is underrated in this regard. No one wants to battle to the death without some sort of view—location, location, location.

If you’re going to die on a hill, try to make sure no one has died on it before. Awfully hard to make a point if you have to share the glory with strangers just as stubborn as you.

Finally, if you’re going to die on a hill, please die near the bottom—the rest of us don’t want to walk any further than necessary.

Morning Reading is a daily email to help center yourself, reflect, and prepare for the day. It’s sent with love from your friend, Zach in Austin, Texas. He even drew the logo himself.
