Morning Reading for February 27
Strip back all the statistics, the ranges, the pot sizes and the book plays, and poker is ultimately a game about story.
Everyone’s given a writing prompt, a series of cards face up, and a secret writing prompt, two cards face down.
This is not really good poker advice, but the point stands: it’s not the computers who win at poker, it’s the people who can spin the best stories around what cards they do and don’t have, telling intricate plot lines with miniscule adjustments.
Is it the opportunity to win that draws us to the table? Or the stories we tell about what we lose?
Thank you. Let’s have a great day.
