Hanno
January 14
This is a true story:
Pope Leo the 10th was given an elephant as a gift. He named it Hanno.
It was allegedly his favorite gift he’d ever been given. People wrote poems about Hanno to gain favor with the pope. Even the satirest took up pen on the subject of Hanno, knowing a now-dead elephant was a sure fire way to get under the skin of the most powerful man alive.
History has a thousand lessons, shouting her wisdom for all to hear, important words, sacred teachings.
So much so that we sometimes forget that history can also just be entertaining.
Thank you. Let’s have a great day.
