July 24 | The Commitment

The commitment doesn’t care what happens the second after you commit to it. 

It doesn’t adjust for unforeseen circumstances or unknown variables.

It doesn’t change its mind or forget its keys or text you telling you its going to be a few minutes late.

It just is. Present without speaking, aware without presence, existing forever simply because someone had the audacity to name it. 

That’s the power a commitment holds over our heads—to make our break us, knowing the entire time that we’re the ones who put ourselves up to it.
