clearing the air

Morning Reading for July 24

If you agree it’s time—

Time to open things back up to possibility, to admit they didn’t shake out the way you wanted them to, to finally and for once clear the air—

Well, what is it exactly that you’ll do to make the air more clear?

Will you spray it down with windex? Try to wipe the spots away? Or kindly ask the air to step into your washing machine for a quick run through the spin cycle? Would you run around the neighborhood, vacuum cleaner in hand, gesticulating wildly, spinning around and around, scaring the neighbors for the 3rd time this week as you attempt to mightily and permanently clear the air?

Clearing the air is a great thing—a great thing that is usually done by waiting. Because the air seems very capable of clearing itself.

Thank you. Let’s have a great day.
