ideas don't count
Morning Reading for June 5
Ideas don’t count.
Calculators do, and computers do, and accountants apparently do it a lot, though knowing that for certain would require talking to an accountant.
Kids learn to count and then promptly go very willy-nilly with it all, trying to compete with each other to see who can do it the most: a million plus one? No! A million plus a million!
But ideas—even the best ideas—even YOUR ideas—don’t count.
They don’t know how. Because they’re just ideas, getting dunked on in the counting department by people who were very recently literal babies.
The idea itself doesn’t count. Unless you make it count, by dragging it from the realm of ideas into this one.
Thank you. Let’s have a great day.
