emotional support belief

Morning Reading for June 12

It’s starting to run a little ragged around the edges—not just grimy, mind you, but fraying, slowly transforming from a permanent object into tiny pieces of string.

Yes, it was once shiny and new, wrapped around your shoulders, not only a source of pride but warm too, comforting.

Now you’ve outgrown that old blanket, but its still your favorite. It’s not as sightly, not even as warm, but the very idea of going anywhere without it fills you with a slight sense of terror.

We’ve all been there. We’ve all held onto something for longer than we should, because we’re human and we find meaning where we have to.

But maybe it’s time your emotional support belief retired to a new life? As part of quilt, or framed lovingly on the wall, and called, without the slightest judgment, “something you used to think but no longer do.”

Thank you. Let’s have a great day.
