uncomplicate yourself

Morning Reading for June 28

You are an enigma to the rest of us, and nothing can change that.

All the workshops in the world, ten years of psychoanalysis, they’d help us, sure—but they’d only begin to scratch the surface of the wonderful, contradictory depths of you.

Hell, we have a hard enough time trying to map our own internal unknowns, all the things, kind and cold, that poke their unexpected heads into the attics of our brains, dropping by without so much a a hello.

It’s why your work cannot simply be your work. If you want to have any hope of navigating a world of people you don’t understand, you must begin by clearing out the garage of your own head—doing the complicated work of uncomplicating yourself.

Thank you. Let’s have a great day.
