Knock knock

Knock knock

Hello friend—you’re receiving this email as a part of morning reading, a daily reflection on the parts of life worth living for that you signed up for sometime last year. I've got a laundry list of additions, designs updates, and website pieces I want to make, but ultimately, I just wanted to bring this back. Thank you for reading, and a very happy New Year.

Knock On Your Own DoorJanuary 30

Good morning, friend. The start of every great adventure begins the same: With a not-quite hero sitting comfortably at home.Until one day, something happens: a knock on the door. An old friend, or referred acquaintance, or unexpected somebody. Of course, all sorts of hilarity ensues. Refusals and acceptances and reconciliations. Mostly though, there are a bunch of people at home, sitting, waiting. Going about their normal lives, with no wizards showing up.But you know the thing about doors? If you walk out of yours, and turn around? You can knock on your own door.Of course, the second you go to try, you might have discovered you’ve already left the comfort of your own home, and don’t have to knock anymore. Sometimes stories actually are as simple as they seem. Journal Prompt: What adventure have you been waiting to be invited to?
