Leaders of History

December 10

When you start reading history, it’s easy to get caught up in all the leaders. The kings, the dictators, the scientists and the authors and the seemingly endless horde of fascinating and important individuals who step up to the plate at various times and places.

But if you keep reading, you start to see the gaps—even more moments when history came calling and no one was there to answer. Battles lost, wars lost, countries lost, countless people lost—not just the tragedy of what happened, but the travesty of what could have happened still, now lost.

How many problems—big and small—remain unsolvable because no one is willing to take a crack at them? Willing to risk getting it wrong?

Morning Reading is a daily email to help center yourself, reflect, and prepare for the day. It’s sent with love from your friend, Zach in Austin, Texas. He even drew the logo himself.
