Life Begins Today

If your life began today, you, the entity that came into existence, might think of something like this:

I did not ask to begin. I certainly did not ask for all the memories this person has, or all the hopes they have for the future. I was not responsible for all the things that happened to them, or even all the things that they did, but in light of what I know, I am responsible for what they do next.

Responsible to take on the responsibility of the past, responsible to stewared the dreams of the future.

The same past you have to reconcile, the same future you hope for, without any of the baggage or the stories you tell about it.

All in all, another day’s work.
