March 16 | It Isn’t What It Isn’t

It is what it is.

It is when it is.

It is who, what, when where, how, and most specifically, why it is. 

Except you know it isn’t. 

You see, in your mind, the way the work spirals out onto the canvas, eating up blank page after blank page until the work is finally done.

Or possibly more accurately, you see past all the rough edges of your first draft to a brilliant inner form, so beautiful and obvious you can hardly see all the rough edges getting in the way.

That is your artistic gift. The ability to look past things as they are and see them for what they still could be.

Unfortunately, it’s a vision we rarely share. You must speak it into existence.
