Isn’t that what we’re peddling?

Underneath all trappings, the glossy design and the mixing notes, the revisions and edits and font choices and ingredient lists and meeting notes and calendar invites, the tiny gleam of something buried yet still screaming

“I AM HUMAN AND I MADE THIS.”

We need the tools and the process to bring that authenticity into being. Or maybe we just need it as a way to convince ourselves we’ve done work, going there and back again as we add things that we will later strip away to reveal the original creation.

We spend long nights and early mornings digging deep between our lungs, scraping and panning the furthest reaches of experience for those sacred stones—something real and beautiful, indivisible in it’s simplicity, completely unexplainable in its existence. The authentic defies the laws of creative physics, bombing where it should succeed, running laps around works a thousand times its stature.

Of course, that’s just a bonus, not why we seek it out. Because what else would be worth the hard work? What else would be worth the risk? Is there any other treasure worth the perilous tunnels of your own mind?… Read the rest
