Morning Reading for May 9
You may, as an adult, with a fully formed frontal cortex, and all the benefit of a decade or more of experience of people telling you to act responsibly, find yourself somewhat frustrated with the state of things.
You may sit your brain down and say: look, brain. It’s been a good run. But we’re not 14 anymore. We can’t just go around wanting to play video games every night and expect to impress our parents.
And that’s fine and right. Good even. You should desire bigger and better things than keeping up with streaming. You’re the adult with the keys to the body and you’ve got to make intelligent decisions.
But like the world around you, you go through seasons. Times when you want things more than others. Your job is not to mitigate those seasons, it’s to embrace them.
A time for growth, a time for survival. A time for peace, a time for war. A time for discipline, a time for calling out of work and binge watching 3 seasons.
All things in time. Including you.
Thank you. Let’s have a great day.
