Memory

January 11

The scientific studies on memory show just how fallible our internal hard drives can be.

Colored by emotion, stress, trauma, and time.

There’s a sadness to it, watching our lives disappear, falling through the cracks in our cupped hands.

But there’s also a joy—memory as some sort of kind judge, taking the edges off the past like a river, slowly rounding down a stone, telling us:

Do the right thing, and I will let your memories judge you kindly.

Thank you. Let’s have a great day.

Morning Reading is a daily email to help center yourself, reflect, and prepare for the day. It’s sent with love from your friend, Zach in Austin, Texas. He even drew the logo himself.
