A new new day | morning reading

Hello friend—you’re receiving this email as a part of morning reading, a daily reflection on the parts of life worth living for that you signed up for sometime last year. I've got a laundry list of additions, designs updates, and website pieces I want to make, but ultimately, I just wanted to bring this back. Thank you for reading, and a very happy New Year.

A NEW NEW DAY

Good morning,When all the confetti in all of the poppers has once and finally been popped, tread on, kicked into a rough pile, only to be cleaned up a day later—When all of the bubbles in all the champagne falls as flat as the last anecdote of the night, and once-raised glasses are set down for the last time till Easter—When all the resolutions fail to resolve to anything remotely like a happy beginning, much less a happy ending, and once-scribbled dreams start to feel like a waste of perfectly good paper—You’ll find little comfort in the “New Year.”But maybe, instead, you’ll find some in a New Day. The most ordinary of all beginnings. When you rub the sleep from your eyes, and discover the regrets of the past are just yesterday’s garbage to be taken to the curb. And if you let this one slide, fold today’s hand with a quiet “fuck it”, well…There’s another tomorrow. And one after that one, too. So whenever you’re ready… Journal prompt: Is there something you keep telling yourself you’re going to do? Is there a new beginning you need to begin to let go of?
