Nothing But This, Nowhere But Here
August 3
Long past the never-ending stack of to-dos, the unfilled pages of the journal, recycling bins full of militant orders and unfulfilled promises to ourselves—we may find that, all along, it was only us. Judge, jury, and (lack of) executioner.
There’s no other parties to lay claim to everything we’ve left unfinished. No one else knocking on our doors, ready to sue for damages against a never-realized future—a long series of axes, hanging above our heads, hung by our very own hands.
Reality remains the only companion to us—the silent observer who sings the only song they know:
Nothing but this, nowhere but here.
No reflections, no narratives, no justifications, no promises. Just the same, unending river of experience, flowing at the exact same right, patient without waiting, strong without trying—always inviting us to lock-in to nothing but the present moment.
Morning Reading is a daily email to help center yourself, reflect, and prepare for the day. It’s sent with love from your friend, Zach in Austin, Texas. He even drew the logo himself.
