Is It Working for Anyone

Morning Reading for October 10

There are things that clearly seem to be working for just about everyone: there’s no news stories about people overdosing from meditation. No clickbait articles about the dangers of becoming a book addict. And no one ever accuses the gym of being a pyramid scheme, because everyone on every rung of the pyramid seems to be happier than before.

Then there’s things you ask: who is it really working for? Social media, liquor, working weekends, video games, smoking cigarettes, debating politic, pools we dip our toes in, or jump in outright fully clothed, not wholly bad, but you look around, and you wonder: who is this really working for?

And maybe most pressing of all, how many dangerous waters do you want to learn to chart?

If it’s not working for anyone, what makes you think it will work for you?

Thank you. Let’s have a great day.
