Humanizing the Villains

Morning Reading for October 5

We don’t want to humanize villains.

War criminals, despots, political leaders from opposing parties, we want to hate them with a want that borders on need.

Want to hold that high hatred for their actions high, like a torch or a beacon, uncomplicated in its destruction.

But it’s not really a question of humanizing them, whoever they are, because they’re already human.

If our villains weren’t human, what they did wouldn’t hurt the way it does.

Thank you. Let’s have a great day.
