Phoning it in generally gets you a bad rap.

Unless you’re trying to order pizza. Or you’re looking up the nearest place to go rock climbing. Or you’re an alien trapped on earth just trying to phone home. In which case, phoning it in is the best possible thing you could do.

In which case, phoning it in is the opposite of phoning it in.
