Picking Sides
June 27
The buttered side of the toast is infinitely superior.
(They say that parents can’t pick favorites, but deep down, we all know which part of the bread we’re proud of and which we don’t talk about at parties).
And we all prefer people who have gotten up on the right side of the bed. Including ourselves.
The poor, poor rational mind might try to tell you they’re the same thing—
That the buttered side of the toast is better because you buttered it, and the right side of the bed is simply whichever side you got up on—
But in a world of people who are incredibly grumpy because they ate unbuttered toast, can it all really just be a matter of picking sides?
