Reasons
March 17
We often talk about a sense of meaning as a “reason to get out of bed in the morning.” Which is all too real.
But how often do we talk about our reasons to get into bed at night?
Is there something important enough in your life that you’re willing to walk away from all the pleasures of the evening? To set down the remote, the controller, the conversation, the show, to wrap things up earlier than is absolutely necessary?
After all, it’s often the evenings that hold the rest from the day’s distractions, letting the coiled up intentions of the day unwind just a little, taking the edge off of our mix of ambition and unwanted responsibilities.
Maybe it’s less about having an iron will in the morning, and more about having perspective late at night?
Morning Reading is a daily email to help center yourself, reflect, and prepare for the day. It’s sent with love from your friend, Zach in Austin, Texas. He even drew the logo himself.
