Rehinged

May 4

Acting unhinged really only seems like useful information if you are a door. Or window. Or something else with hinges. If those hinges come off, well, the door, window, and fridge are no longer serving their purpose.

Of course, the nice thing about having hinges is that you have movement—the ability to be multiple things based on the situation. At one moment an open space, at another, a secure front. Both very much hinged behavior.

Sure, acting truly unhinged is some kind of version of the wheels falling off—taking things way too far, or letting them go to far, or pushing into the chaos of full on sending it.

So maybe instead of being unhinged, you could just decide instead to be open. Stop doing the job of shutting out the world and start doing the job of letting it in.

But you know the nice thing about being unhinged? You can rehinge any time you want to.

And whether you hinge, unhinge, or rehinge, well, you’re still more useful than just being a wall.
