The Secret Ingredient

September 5

You could run every double-blind test, creating clones of yourself to serve as the control group, or building the world’s biggest supercomputer to run the whole test with AI, calculating down to the billionth percentile exactly what would or wouldn’t work with your regrettably unique DNA…

You could hire all the coaches, productivity gurus, any and all productivity experts, lock them in your basement duct-taped to folding chairs until they spill every single last bean known to mankind, distilling them into 5 minute sections…

You could supercharge your supplements, microdosing and macrodosing vitamins B-Z with every possible liver oil under the sun, carefully tracking every molecule that makes its way into that temple of yours you call a body…

You could do it all and more, and the secret ingredient would still be belief.

The idea that, despite good evidence to the contrary, things could be better than they are.

Or maybe the secret ingredient is the belief that there is a secret ingredient?

That somewhere, someway, someone actually found something that worked?

Morning Reading is a daily email to help center yourself, reflect, and prepare for the day. It’s sent with love from your friend, Zach in Austin, Texas. He even drew the logo himself.
