It can expand to fill all the corners of your day at a moments notice, happily showing up at your door with a 6 pack at one AM if you’ll let it.

It’ll just as readily bail out your back window when a friend calls, leaving without so much as an Irish goodbye, no questions asked, no feelings hurt, happy to slide back over if you could use a little friendship.

It exists completely without expectation, happy to take whatever space we give it, giving up the best spot on the couch the second anyone asks. 

So what would it look like to make space for it, content with the scraps, but ready for a few brief moments of intimacy—time with silence, your oldest friend?
