this way, this way

this way, this way

This Way, This Way

August 4

All of life is constantly moving.

You could consult the molecular scientists, or perhaps ask the molecules themselves, or just spy on your neighbor a little extra, and they’ll all confirm the same thing. Moving, Changing. Bouncing around the playhouse of life in any and all directions.

Surrounded by such a lack of permanence, why would we think our virtues would be any different?

Maybe the best we have—goodness, truth, humility, devotion—are not impenetrable fortresses but rather roadsigns, invitations, the little voice saying “this way, this way.”

Fixed not in location, but in direction—in an ever-moving world, ever moving towards something better.

Morning Reading is a daily email to help center yourself, reflect, and prepare for the day. It’s sent with love from your friend, Zach in Austin, Texas. He even drew the logo himself.
