What Wisdom Demands

October 15

Wisdom may roll her eyes at too many of the things we do, silently judging the consequences of our choices.

Wisdom may come running from across the street, chewing you out for this or that or the other thing.

Wisdom may shout and scream, may yell and poke, may proud and cajole and protest or just subtweet you into oblivion…

But wisdom doesn’t demand anything. Never gives up. Never stops being wise in all her annoying ways.

Maybe that—that lack of demand—maybe that’s the first lesson wisdom has to teach?

Morning Reading is a daily email to help center yourself, reflect, and prepare for the day. It’s sent with love from your friend, Zach in Austin, Texas. He even drew the logo himself.
