Without Opening Your Door

June 12

Without opening your door, step outside.

How easy is it to imagine the way to the front porch? The warm sun or harsh rain that will greet you? The wind and all her predictable wiles?

Can you see the paths—the drive to work, the route to groceries, the grooves etched in the surface of the earth and in your brain, the places we live and breath and go and take and find ourselves a little too often?

Can you also see the unturned corner? The route chance and choice have yet to take you, the unknown world, waiting for a reason mundane enough to take a left turn?

If you can see that much of the world, all without opening your door, than that much of the world exists within you—buried somewhere deep? Or always running, just below the surface?

All without opening your door?

Morning Reading is a daily email to help center yourself, reflect, and prepare for the day. It’s sent with love from your friend, Zach in Austin, Texas. He even drew the logo himself.
