Do Your Own Work
January 13
Do your own work.
Take your own calls.
Set your own hours, make your own bed, and when the time comes, sleep in it, too.
Perform your own stunts. Write your own songs. Make lists of your own favorite things and show them to no one but yourself.
Find your own time, on your own schedule, and flip your own middle finger to anyone who tries to tell you otherwise.
And even when the world takes more than it gives, eating into all your margin, demanding all the thousand things it does, hold the fire close in your belly, the steel that reminds you:
No matter what else is taken, you are still you.
Thank you. Let’s have a great day.
Morning Reading is a daily email to help center yourself, reflect, and prepare for the day. It’s sent with love from your friend, Zach in Austin, Texas. He even drew the logo himself.
